The ghosts and ghouls were out in full force at YNYC’s first-ever REDRUM Halloween fundraiser on October 29th! We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the 300+ people who attended the event. We in YNYC love Halloween almost as much as we love a good party with all our friends, and the evening was a perfect combination of the two. Choir members from our mixed and women’s ensembles mingled with guests and celebrated in costumes that ranged from scary to sexy. One daring chorister even dressed as our director Michael Kerschner! In the midst of the revelry, spooky singing emerged. The mixed ensemble awed attendees with a thrilling performance of horror classic “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd,” and the women’s ensemble followed suit with an erie and enchanting rendition of “Witches Duet- But ere we this perform” from “Dido and Aeneas”.
The fantastic UWS bar Prohibition hosted us as we raised money for our 2013-14 season. Thanks to the overwhelming support of all of our friends and guests, it’s sure to be our best season yet!
