Composers Competition

The Young New Yorkers’ Chorus invites all composers under the age of 35 to apply for our annual Competition for Young Composers. The Grand Prize winner of this Nathan C. Davis Prize in Composition receives $1000.

Since 2005, YNYC has commissioned 21 pieces from rising stars in the choral world. We have given these works world premieres, and awarded $12,000 in prizes.

Entrants may live anywhere; a small travel stipend is available for non-New York composers to workshop their pieces prior to the performance and attend the premiere.

To apply for the 2012-2013 competition, please read this Competition Announcement and complete our Application Form. Email competition@ynyc.org with questions.
